In this article, our Norwegian project leader Geir Torgersen outlines the methodology and outcomes of the pre-project “Green Sponge Buildings in Scandinavia”. The pre-project research underscores the considerable growth prospects for both green roofs and walls, emphasizing the importance of enhanced collaboration within the Scandinavian region to encourage their implementation. The findings show that, unlike green roofs, which have seen wider adoption, green walls remain relatively underutilized in Scandinavia as a local solution for managing stormwater.
